Your data-protection rights
You can ask what Cabdell's servers keep about you, and ask us to correct it, stop using it, stop showing it or delete our copies of it. Requests are free, and we answer within one month. The privacy policy explains what we keep and why. En español
What you can ask
- Access: a copy of what our servers hold about an address, an ORCID iD or this browser.
- Rectification: correct something inaccurate. On the blockchain nothing can be changed, but a later record can correct an earlier one (a new version, a new declaration); we correct our own copies and what we derive from them.
- Erasure: stop showing data about you on our services and delete our copies. Under article 94 of the Spanish data-protection law (LOPDGDD) you can ask this at your simple request for data you supplied for publication, and for data you published while you were a minor. Nothing can be deleted from the blockchain, and copies others keep are beyond our reach.
- Restriction: stop using some data while a question is settled.
- Objection: to the figures we compute about people. On your own profile, the objection note asks this service not to show your Thread Score and reputation figures and not to draw you for juries; you can also object here to any processing based on our legitimate interest.
- Portability: your browser-notification settings, in a reusable format (the panel below gives them at once).
How we check that it is you
For a request about an address, we ask you to sign a short message with your wallet. It is not a transaction: nothing is recorded on the blockchain, nothing is paid, and the message says so. If your wallet cannot sign messages, send the request anyway: we will agree another proof with you by e-mail, for example a short text we give you to add for a moment to your public ORCID record. We will never ask you for your private key, your recovery words or a transaction.
Requests about this browser's notifications need no proof: the panel below reads them from this browser.
What happens next
You get a reference number at once. We answer by e-mail within one month (within three for complex requests, in which case we tell you within the first month), and we keep the request and our answer for two years. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (www.aepd.es).
