TestNet: articles here are for testing and carry no reputation on MainNet.

Get started

Five steps, about fifteen minutes, from nothing to your first review or article on TestNet.

This is TestNet, the practice network: everything is real except the money. ALGO are free, and nothing you do here carries over to MainNet, which opens later.

0 of 5 done. Each step ticks itself when it is done.

  1. Connect a wallet

Your wallet is your account on Cabdell: no e-mail, no password. Install Pera, Defly or Lute, create an account and write down its recovery phrase somewhere safe (nobody can recover it for you). Then connect it.

    Wallets and your address

  2. Get free TestNet ALGO

Every action is a transaction: a small network fee, and for most actions a non-refundable storage deposit that stays locked in the application for ever. About 0.3 ALGO lets you publish an article and write a first review. On TestNet ALGO are free and worth nothing.

Open the TestNet dispenser Lora's dispenser asks you to sign in with a Google account (and may ask you to prove you are a person), then sends test ALGO to the address you paste.

    Costs and deposits

  3. Choose where your files are stored

Articles, reviews and comments are files on IPFS that you keep available; Cabdell then keeps a second copy. Use a Filebase bucket (free plan), a Pinata key, or your own IPFS node. The key stays in this browser.

In Filebase: create a bucket on the IPFS network used for Cabdell alone (so that its token reaches nothing else), then Access Keys → IPFS RPC API → choose that bucket and generate a token. Paste that token here (not the S3 access key and secret). The key stays in this browser, is sent only to Filebase, and you can forget it at any time. Cabdell never sees it. A key limited to uploading files is the safest kind.

    Storage: IPFS, pins and copies

  4. Link your ORCID iD

Required for your reviews to count toward an article's Peer-reviewed seal, and for your own articles to get it (every author needs one). Readers then see your name, and citations use it. It never changes your reputation.

    Link your ORCID iD

  5. Take part

Bring your colleagues

Cabdell works when people of the same field review each other. Invite two or three colleagues: there is an invitation you can copy, in English and Spanish, in the documentation. Send them the link to this page.
