Invite colleagues
Cabdell works when people of the same field read and review each other: reputation is earned per field, and a review counts toward the Peer-reviewed seal only when its author knows the field. The best way to try it is with two or three colleagues of your own field, on TestNet, where everything is real except the money.
Send them the Get started page of the app: https://cabdell.press/testnet/start. It walks through the five steps (a wallet, free TestNet ALGO, where files are stored, the ORCID iD, the first review or article) and ticks each one when it is done.
What to ask them to try
Section titled “What to ask them to try”A pilot of one or two weeks is enough to see the whole cycle:
- Get started (about fifteen minutes): the five steps of https://cabdell.press/testnet/start.
- Publish something small: short notes, a preprint they already have the right to share, or a dataset. See Your first article, step by step.
- Review one article of a colleague, with at least 200 words: what it claims, whether the methods support it, what is missing. See Review an article.
- Vote and comment: vote for the articles and the reviews they find valuable, and answer the reviews of their own article. See Comment, mention and vote.
- Tell you what confused them, what failed and what they missed.
With two favourable reviews that count, an article gets the Peer-reviewed seal; the article page shows why each review counts or not. Reputation then follows the votes: it is what lets later reviews count without an ORCID record of published works.

Subject: Try Cabdell with me: open peer review on a blockchain (TestNet)
Dear [name],
I am trying Cabdell (https://cabdell.press/docs/), an open system for publishing and reviewing research:anyone can publish and read, reviews and votes are public and signed, reputation is earned per field fromthe judgement of other researchers, and an article earns a "Peer-reviewed" seal when two qualified reviewersrecommend it. There is no paywall and no publisher in the middle.
It is running on TestNet, the practice network: everything works for real, but the money is free test moneyand nothing carries over to the final network. I would like two or three colleagues of our field to try itwith me for a week or two:
1. Get started (about 15 minutes): https://cabdell.press/testnet/start2. Publish something small (short notes or a preprint you can share).3. Review one article of the group (at least 200 words).4. Tell me what confused you or did not work.
The documentation is at https://cabdell.press/docs/ if you want the details.

Gracias,[tu nombre]Before you send it
Section titled “Before you send it”- Publish first. An article of yours gives the others something to review on day one.
- Same field. Reputation and the seal’s expertise rule work per field (and per area for OpenAlex works); people of different fields cannot make each other’s reviews count at first.
- ORCID iDs. Ask them to link one early: a review counts toward the seal only when its author has a verified ORCID iD, an article holds the seal only when all its authors have one, and the check can take a few minutes after they add the link to their ORCID record.
- No conflicts. Reviews between people who wrote together in the last 3 years, or who work at the same institution, are published but do not count toward the seal. A mixed group of two or three institutions works best.
